Effective Date: 7 July 2026
Last Updated: 8 August 2026
Welcome to Home Plan DIY. By accessing homeplandiy.com, purchasing a product, requesting a modification, or using any of our services, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
1. Overview
Home Plan DIY provides downloadable house plans, architectural drawings, design files, renderings, and related digital services.
By purchasing or using our products or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
2. Digital Products Only
All products sold through Home Plan DIY are digital products. We do not provide physical products or physical shipping unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Depending on the product or service purchased, your order may include PDF files, CAD files, 3D model files, images, renderings, material lists, or other digital formats described on the applicable product or service page.
The files and documents included with each plan may vary. Customers are responsible for reviewing the product description before purchasing.
3. License and Permitted Use
When you purchase a house plan from Home Plan DIY, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-use license to use the plan for the construction of one structure at one location.
Purchasing a plan does not transfer copyright or ownership of the plan, design, drawings, files, or related materials to the customer.
Under this license:
- You may construct one structure using the purchased plan.
- You may print copies reasonably required for your permitted construction project.
- You may provide necessary copies to your builder, contractor, engineer, architect, building official, or other professional involved in the permitted project.
- Anyone receiving the files on your behalf may use them only for your permitted project.
- You may not use the plan to construct additional buildings without purchasing an additional license or obtaining written permission from Home Plan DIY.
- You may not resell, publish, upload, reproduce, distribute, sublicense, transfer, or share the plan with another person for use on a different project.
- You may not use the plan, drawings, images, renderings, or files to create products for resale.
- Commercial reproduction, redistribution, or resale is prohibited without prior written permission from Home Plan DIY.
The license applies only to the customer who purchased the plan and may not be transferred with the property, project, company, or construction contract unless Home Plan DIY provides written permission.
4. Custom Plans and Modification Services
Customers may request a completely custom plan or modifications to an existing Home Plan DIY plan.
Before work begins, Home Plan DIY may provide a written quote describing the requested work, estimated timeline, included deliverables, payment requirements, and revision terms.
Custom and modification projects may take five to seven business days or longer, depending on complexity, communication, revisions, and the scope of work.
Estimated delivery dates are not guaranteed unless Home Plan DIY expressly confirms a guaranteed delivery date in writing.
Requests outside the approved scope may require an additional fee and additional completion time.
5. Customer Approval and Revisions
The customer is responsible for carefully reviewing all drafts, dimensions, layouts, room arrangements, elevations, labels, and other project details before approving the final plan.
The number of included revisions, when applicable, will be stated in the applicable quote, invoice, product description, or written agreement.
Once the customer approves the final design or final files are delivered:
- Additional changes may require a new quote and additional payment.
- Home Plan DIY is not responsible for errors or requested features that the customer approved during the review process.
- Changes requested after final approval are not considered part of the original order unless agreed to in writing.
6. Ownership of Custom and Modified Plans
Unless a separate written agreement signed by Home Plan DIY expressly states otherwise, all custom plans, modified plans, revised layouts, drawings, designs, CAD files, 3D models, renderings, images, specifications, and related materials created by or for Home Plan DIY remain the intellectual property of Home Plan DIY.
Payment for a custom or modified plan pays for the design service and the customer’s license to use the delivered plan for one permitted construction project. Payment does not transfer copyright, intellectual-property ownership, exclusive rights, or resale rights to the customer.
Home Plan DIY retains the right to:
- Reuse the plan or portions of the plan.
- Revise, adapt, improve, or create new versions of the plan.
- Publish or display the plan in its portfolio, website, advertising, social media, or promotional materials.
- Offer the plan or a revised version of the plan for sale to other customers.
- License the plan or a revised version to another customer.
- Create additional layouts, elevations, styles, sizes, or configurations based on the plan.
Before publicly displaying, publishing, licensing, or selling a custom or modified plan, Home Plan DIY will remove the original customer’s name, address, property information, and other identifying personal information.
A custom plan is not automatically an exclusive plan. Exclusive ownership, copyright transfer, or exclusive-use rights are available only when expressly agreed to in a separate written agreement signed by Home Plan DIY. Additional fees may apply.
By ordering a custom plan or modification service, the customer acknowledges and agrees that Home Plan DIY may reuse, revise, publish, market, license, or sell the plan or a new version of the plan.
7. Customer-Provided Materials
Customers may provide sketches, photographs, inspiration images, existing drawings, property information, or other reference materials to help explain their requested design.
By submitting materials to Home Plan DIY, the customer confirms that they own the materials or have the necessary permission to provide and use them.
The customer may not ask Home Plan DIY to copy, reproduce, or modify another designer’s copyrighted plan without authorization from the copyright owner.
Home Plan DIY may refuse any project that appears to infringe another person’s intellectual-property rights.
Customer-provided materials remain the property of their respective owners. Home Plan DIY’s ownership rights apply to the original design work and materials created by or for Home Plan DIY.
8. Pricing and Payment
All prices displayed on the website are listed in United States dollars unless otherwise stated.
Home Plan DIY reserves the right to change product prices, service prices, discounts, and promotional offers at any time without prior notice.
The price applicable to an order is the price shown or quoted when the order is placed and payment is completed.
Custom plan and modification work may require full payment before work begins unless a different payment schedule is agreed to in writing.
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Home Plan DIY does not control the payment provider’s processing times, security procedures, or account-verification requirements.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are generally final.
Downloaded or delivered digital plans, CAD files, custom plans, modified plans, renderings, and other completed digital services are not eligible for refunds or exchanges, except where required by applicable law or expressly stated in our Refund Policy.
For custom or modification services:
- Work may begin shortly after payment is received.
- Payments may become non-refundable once design work has started.
- Completed work, draft work, labor, processing fees, and delivered files are non-refundable.
- Failure to use, download, review, print, permit, or construct from the files does not create a right to a refund.
- A change of mind, construction-cost concern, financing issue, contractor issue, property issue, or local permit requirement does not automatically qualify the order for a refund.
Customers should contact plan@homeplandiy.com with any questions before purchasing.
10. Intellectual Property
All original content made available through Home Plan DIY, including house designs, architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, images, renderings, graphics, text, logos, videos, product descriptions, CAD files, 3D models, and downloadable materials, is owned by or licensed to Home Plan DIY and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
No material may be copied, reproduced, published, uploaded, transmitted, distributed, modified for resale, or commercially used without prior written permission from Home Plan DIY.
Unauthorized use may result in cancellation of the customer’s license and further legal action where appropriate.

Home Plan DIY plans are intended to provide general architectural and construction information. Building codes, zoning regulations, structural requirements, energy requirements, engineering standards, snow loads, wind loads, soil conditions, foundation requirements, and permit procedures vary by location.
The customer is responsible for having the plans reviewed by a locally licensed architect, engineer, builder, or other qualified professional before construction.

Home Plan DIY does not guarantee that a plan will be approved by any particular building department or local authority without revisions.
12. Construction Responsibility
Home Plan DIY does not supervise or control construction.
The customer, builder, contractor, engineer, architect, and other project professionals are responsible for construction methods, workmanship, site safety, material selection, structural calculations, code compliance, dimensions, and field conditions.
Any conflict, omission, or unclear detail should be reviewed with a qualified local professional before construction continues.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, products, files, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

- A plan will meet every local building requirement without modification.

- Construction delays, cost increases, material shortages, or contractor disputes.

Where liability cannot be excluded, Home Plan DIY’s total liability relating to an order will not exceed the amount the customer paid directly to Home Plan DIY for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
15. Suspension or Termination of License
Home Plan DIY may suspend or terminate a customer’s license if the customer violates these Terms of Service, including by sharing, reselling, reproducing, publishing, or using a plan for more than one construction project without permission.
Termination of the license does not transfer any ownership rights to the customer or remove Home Plan DIY’s intellectual-property rights.
16. Changes to These Terms
Home Plan DIY reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time.
Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective or last-updated date. Continued use of the website or services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
